Regularly creating promotions on your books is one of the keys to long term success as an author. However, it can also be one of the most error prone and tedious parts of your job. It’s not easy to stay organized enough to remember which book needs to be promoted next and when it needs to be promoted.
That’s why we created promo reminders on Book Sprout. Let us send you a reminder email when it’s time to run another promotion! Here’s how it works.
What it does
To put it simply, promo reminders will remind you when it’s time to create another promotion on a book! More than that, it’s going to speed up the process of creating promotions. Anyone who has a KDP account with more than one page worth of books knows how tiresome it is to…
- Keep track of which book needs a promotion
- Find the book that you want to promote in your KDP backend
- Create the promotion
- Repeat for the next book on your list.
Wouldn’t it be much easier to skip steps 1 and 2? That’s what Book Sprout’s promo reminders will let you do. You’ll even receive an optional email whenever a promotion is due!
There are two ways to create a promo reminder
- At the same time you create a promotion. At the bottom of the promo creation form there’s now a new section that will allow you to request a reminder in however many days you want (for those enrolled in KDP Select, this is likely going to be 90 days).
- By going to your list of promo reminders and clicking “Create Reminder.”
Amazon Promotion Manager Link
This field is going to be really useful for those of you with more than one page of books on your Amazon KDP account. Providing this will allow you to skip step 2 above.
To get this link, you’re going to want to find your book in your KDP backend and click “Promote and advertise.” That will take you to the Promotion Manager page for that book where you can get the required Amazon Promotion Manager Link.
You can find the Link at the top of your screen in the URL bar. It should look something like this:
Or, if you exclusively run free book promotions you can select “Free Book Promotion” and then click “Create a new Free Book Promotion” to get a link such as:
The same applies for countdown deals if you prefer to run those. If that’s the case, then your link will look more like this:
Select the URL that best fits your preferences and paste it into the Amazon Promotion Manager Link field!
